Alonge Hawes, the auteur behind the acclaimed web series Blue Collar Hustle, has announced that the series will return for its second season at some point in 2018 on Seeka.TV.

The news itself isn’t surprising given that it was announced a few weeks ago that Hawes had entered into a marketing partnership with the digital platform. The official release window was revealed at the end of a teaser trailer that was posted on the series official Facebook and Twitter pages.
“The journey for Ajani, Quan, Jose, and Anthony is far from over,” Hawes said. “Partnering with Seeka’s fantastic platform affords us the opportunity to bring you the next chapter in The Core’s evolving goal towards artistic and cultural independence. I am beyond thrilled to present this teaser as a small morsel of what to expect come next year! Black progress is Black Excellence, and I hope to show progression in all of these wonderful characters.”
Furthermore, Blue Collar Hustle’s second season will bring in a new Director, Jairus Burks.

Mr. Burks is an award-winning Director and Editor, who served as the Director Of Photography for the acclaimed web series Cream x Coffee. He also served as Director for the celebrated short film Green Wood; which was an official selection of the Indie Memphis Film Festival. The season 2 green-light bookends a triumphant year for Hawes and the hustle crew. The series has amassed over 40,000 collective views via its official Youtube channel since its debut in February. It was awarded a 4-star rating from respected website Indyred. The series was named an official selection to the inaugural Minnesota Webfest, being nominated for both Best Drama and Best Representation Of Communities Of Color, winning the latter trophy. The series also won Best Web Series at the 16th annual Urban Mediamakers Film Festival.

Blue Collar Hustle is created, written, and executive produced by Hawes, who also stars alongside Quentin Williams, Howard Woodburn, Roberto Cruz, Shani Hawes, and Tijuana Agnew. In addition to starring, Roberto Cruz, Shani Hawes and Quentin Williams serve as Producers under The League Entertainment Group. Jamal McClendon and Rodderick Fedd serve as co-executive producers under A MillionStories One Pen Productions.
