New artist Davion Farris is ready to soothe the industry with the release of his EP “Trenier”. The EP features a plethora of sounds and vocals, all geared towards sending you on a musical rollercoaster.
The 8 track EP hosts a modern contemporary spin on R&B, a distinctive sound Farris is known for. “Big City Lights” is a piano infused song, hosting themes of improvement and growth. Farris speaks about dreaming big and aiming high, and being from Inglewood. Shortly after, the tempo picks up throughout the project. Hype track “Rollin” is infused with 808’s and Farris’s vocals to evenly complete the track. Artists Eric Bellinger and J Doe join Farris for the hype on “Rollin”, all having fun on the beat.
What is a R&B project without a song about a special someone? “Hop in My Ride” features Farris crooning about a girl that he wishes to please and appreciate well. If everything goes well she’ll “hop in his ride” and leave the rest for the future. “Hold Back” follows after, a love ballad continuing his idea of swooning his soul mate.
Marsha Ambrosius, one half of soul duo Floetry, is a guest artist on “No Chill”. Farris also produced this track on his own, matching both vocals in harmony.
The talented artist is well versed in not only production, but also in songwriting. Farris has written for many artists in the game for quite sometime. “Trenier” is Farris declaration to the world that he a rising artist ready to take his throne.
