Upcoming artist KUIZZ’s latest release, Uncool, tells the story of adolescent struggle with social acceptance. However, the song’s message is that ultimately, self-acceptance is a whole lot cooler.
Uncool displays KUIZZ’s elegant soprano voice as it cascades slowly over the track. The relaxed pace of the song mirrors his relaxed message of acceptance. Rather than trying to be cool, KUIZZ tells us that “it’s ok if you call me uncool”. He appeals to his listeners by revealing his own story of youthful struggle. Everyone has had moments of feeling uncool, or unwelcome at some point or another in their lives. But, as we grow up, we learn that moments that make us feel distant actually bring us together. He says “melodies in my head, music was my best friend”, and as music lovers, we can all identify with the power of music to comfort and support. Alone in an unfamiliar place, music has the power to make us feel at home. It reminds us of happy memories and good friends. Music has undeniable mood-altering power.
KUIZZ’s beautiful voice is like audible heartstrings, harp-like and celestial. His voice stretches perfectly over the track, as he chooses a simple beat and instrumentals. The beat and instrumentals form the perfect foundation to allow his voice to shine. The slow pace of the song really lets his voice saturate the track. His range is truly impressive and sets him apart from the crowd.
KUIZZ comes from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He is not only an incredible vocalist, but is also a writer, songwriter, and producer. From his breakthrough into the music scene, he’s already made some impressive connections. He’s worked with Juno award winning artists like Mia Martina, Danny Fernandes and Kristinia Debarge. KUIZZ is on his way to his own award with more tracks like Uncool.
