Not too long ago, Drew Love was striving to be a solo artist with a voice he wanted everyone to know about. Later, he met producer Dante Jones to form their group THEY. and Dante Jones, now known as THEY. Something like a Bryson Tiller vibe, the duo has been making appearances with music since they released their Nu Religion EP late last year. Now, they’re back with something new for us.
The R&B duo THEY. is back at it again with their new single “Say When” that released yesterday.
The song is a little under three minutes long, but it’s definitally worth it. At first, it begins with a rock vibe mixed with a Japanese anime influence that later leads to Drew Love showing us his talent as he switches from rapping to then singing.
The second half of THEY. producer Dante handles the track well with his work. With Love’s vocals and Dante’s skilled beats, it’s easy to say that the duo is doing what THEY. love, and doing a good job at it.
After listening to “Say When”, I couldn’t get the song out of my heard. Matter of fact, I’m still listening to it at this moment. The way “Say When” incorporated guitar and R&B aspects creates a distinctive sound. Not many use those in R&B these days.
If you haven’t heard of this talented duo, please give them a try. They’re amazing and you may be hearing more from them in the future.
And they’re not stopping there. Check out the tour dates below and see THEY. live at a city near you.
