Four years after Usher released Looking 4 Myself, the Atlanta R&B icon has returned with his long-awaited eighth studio album.
Hard II Love finds Usher shifting between contemporary sounds and the early R&B influences that he pioneered. Over the course of the 15-track project, he brings along the leaders of Atlanta rap, Future and Young Thug, to feature on “Rivals” and “No Limit,” while “FWM” sees Usher reconnecting with Pharrell Williams. Listen to Usher’s Hard II Love album below.
Scheduled to be released on September 16, 2016, by RCA Records. The album includes several producers that were involved with its production; including Brandon “B.A.M.” Hodge, Rock City, R!O, Pop & Oak, Tricky Stewart, The-Dream, Metro Boomin, f a l l e n, Carlos St. John, K-Major, among others. Usher is officially back from his four-year hiatus.
His follow-up to 2012’s Looking 4 Love will feature all of the aforementioned singles including “Bump” and “Missing U.” The only features on the album are fellow Atlanta natives Fewch, Thugga Thugga, and Indian actress and former Miss World, Priyanka Chopra, on the LP’s opener “Need U (Conversation with Priyanka Chopra)” Unfortunately, this means that the star-studded “No Limit” remix did not make a cut.
Jay-Z’s streaming service has been reigning supreme this year as Hard II Love is their fifth exclusive release this year after debuting some of the hottest albums and mixtapes this year from Beyonce, Kanye West, Rihanna, and G.O.O.D Music’s newest signee, Desiigner. Usher, a TIDAL co-owner will be continuing their winning streak with his new solo album.
